Lazy Summer

So, it's finally August and Summer is going to start winding down. We spent the last two weeks with Laney. We hit the beach, finished the bathroom, had girl time, watched a lot of Disney channel and caught some Summer movies. It's only been one day since Laney went back home, and I miss her already. She is becoming such a beautiful young woman capable of adult conversation and some awesome crafting. Love you Laney! I'm sure the Girls are going to miss you too. Even though you had your disagreements, you girls also had some serious cousin bonding time. It's amazing what Facebook some markers and a hair straightener will do to cure boredom.

Bad hair day

Not again! My darling daughter, Lauren, decided it was time for a trim. Grrrr! This will make about the forth time she or one of her sisters have cut her hair. This is very frustrating to me. I guess I may have to get a lock box for the scissors.

Hayley did her own hair today. Isn't it cute? LOL! After she got all dolled up she went outside to catch a HUGE grasshopper. She says he hissed at her so she dropped it.

Destiny stayed the weekend with her friend, Nicole. She played, had some princess pictures done, had Sandy's homemade pizza and went to a pool party. I'm sure she had a blast.

Kids say the darndest things

Another lazy Summer day. I really need to do some housework, but I have been avoiding that like the plague. Hopefully I will have more energy this weekend to tackle some of my chores.

Lauren said the funniest thing today. "Why aren't you and Daddy married?" I had no reply. She then said " I know why. He doesn't have a tuxedo." Kids...they say the darndest things. Here's a picture of my baby girl at her preschool graduation a couple of weeks ago. Isn't she cute?

Looks like it's time for me to go pretend like I doing chores.

Change of plans

Looks like we might have a change of plans today. I know I said I would probably take the kids out in the pool today, but apparently Hayley has developed some sort of rash. I'm sure it is from sleeping on the living room floor last night. I guess I'm not winning the mother of the year award anytime soon. Ha!

It's turning out to be another dull Summer day. I 'm thinking I may need to start getting creative with things to do. Just the mention of cleaning or straightening up their rooms sends the girls into a frenzy. I guess I'm going to have to break out some quarters or bubble gum to make it more exciting. Again, no MOTY award for me.

We are expecting company!

Looks like we will be getting company tonight from none other than the Tooth Fairy. We took the kids to Mcdonald's tonight for hot fudge sundaes, and Lauren lost a tooth in the process. She kept holding it and saying how beautiful she thought it was. She is so sweet.

It's finally starting to kick in. Summer is in full swing and I have cabin fever. It is too hot to go out and I know the kids are bored. I guess tomorrow I will blow up the pool and have some outside fun.
